What do people think of when they think of the New York State Fair?

GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR) -- The Midway was packed at the New York State fairgrounds on Friday, August 22.

During the afternoon, visitors reflected on what makes the Fair a special time for New York residents.

Several agreed that the food selection is top tier.

"I really like Kiki's Gyros," Josh Stala, a Central Square resident, said.

Many agreed that the rides are the main attraction of the two-week-long event.

"It's so family-oriented," Skye-Marie Delork, a Lyons resident, said.

When people were asked what one word would describe the annual event, many said "fun."

The rides are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. from August 20 to September 1.
