The Department for Work and Pensions has CLOSED 340,000 benefit claims and won't pay them a single penny. New data from the DWP shows that between July 2022 and June 2025 a total of 2,108,000 individuals in 1,593,856 households have been sent migration notices.

A total of 1,605,629 of these individuals, living in 1,218,480 households, who were sent migration notices have made a claim to Universal Credit . Of those who have claimed Universal Credit, 617,306 households have been awarded transitional protection.

The data shows a total of 162,108 individuals who were sent migration notices are still going through the Move to UC process and a total of 340,260 individuals who were sent migration notices did not claim UC and have had their legacy benefit claims closed.
