NEW WINDSOR – A fugitive from the Philippines wanted in New Windsor on a rape charge was apprehended on Friday at John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport in Queens.

The New Windsor Police Department, FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force (HVSSTF), and Homeland Security investigations arrested 46-year-old Dominic Mamaat, who was wanted on an Orange County Court warrant for rape. Mamaat was initially arrested and charged by the New Windsor Police Department in May 2020. Three months later, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office presented the case to the Grand Jury, and Mamaat was indicted on several charges, including rape, criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, forcible touching, and attempted assault.
