Middlesbrough are hoping to seal a move for long-term striker target David Strelec before Monday’s transfer deadline, as Rob Edwards confirmed there was truth behind reports of Boro ’s move.

It’s understood that a deal is not yet quite agreed between Boro and Slovan Bratislava for the Slovakian to move to the club, but there is increasing confidence on Teesside that a deal can be done. Despite prior interest from Celtic and others, it appears Strelec is keen to move to the Riverside.
