COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- In one of the most highly anticipated season openers in Ohio State history, the third-ranked Buckeyes host No. 1 Texas at the Horseshoe.

It's the first meeting between the two programs in Columbus in 20 years and a rematch of last season's playoff semifinal at the Cotton Bowl, which the Buckeyes won en route to their ninth national championship. The all-time series between Texas and Ohio State is tied at 2-2.

The matchup features Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning making his first road start of his career and OSU star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, both considered Heisman trophy candidates this season. Ohio State is also debuting new gameday traditions to heighten the atmosphere at Ohio Stadium, including the ringing of the victory bell pregame.
