Close to a month after it started, the so-called ‘Kingston Fire’ is finally listed as under control,

The provincial government announced the status change today, one day after the final evacuation orders were lifted.

Heavy rain is assisting continuing efforts on the ground to mop up and tackle hot spots.

The fire’s full extent exceeded 10,000 hectares, and affected a total of nine communities along the Conception Bay North Shore.
