Rob Edwards was left delighted as his half-time changes were pivotal in Middlesbrough maintaining their perfect start to the season.

Boro beat Sheffield United 1-0 at the Riverside to head into the first international break of the season top of the Championship. Tommy Conway scored the goal that ensured Boro made it four wins from four in the league in a great start for the new Boro boss.

And not for the first time, it was Edwards’ half-time changes that again paid dividends. He brought Matt Targett and Sverre Nypan on at the interval for Sammy Silvera and Sontje Hansen, despite what had been a solid first half, albeit without a breakthrough. Nypan and Targett then combined before the Newcastle United loanee slipped Conway in behind to score.
