OXFORD, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The 12th annual Main Street Alabama Awards of Excellence Banquet held on Thursday, Aug. 21 brought together residents of Alabama to honor outstanding projects and leaders from across the state.

Historic Main Street Oxford was honored at the event, receiving the Excellence in Historic Preservation Award for the successful transformation of the Oxford Railway Depot into Spring Street Station.

Hunter Gentry, the director of Historic Main Street Oxford said the project on the Oxford Railway Depot preserved one of Oxford’s most iconic landmarks while creating new opportunities for dining and events.
