Week 1 of the AHSAA high school football season is coming to a close with scores around the Montgomery area becoming final.

A pair of big wins for new head coaches Mario White (Carver) and Bobby Carr (Prattville). Carver defeated Percy Julian, 39-6, at the Cramton Bowl, while Prattville handled business at the newly renovated Stanley-Jensen stadium against Stanhope Elmore, 43-13.

Pike Road took thing down to its final drive against Enterprise in its home opener, ultimately falling one score short to the Wildcats, 24-17.
