PULLMAN, Wash. — The Battle of the Palouse returns to the gridiron for the 93rd time on Saturday at Gesa Field in Pullman. The series has been dominated by Washington State as the Cougs hold an all time 72-17-3 record.
WSU has won the last 10 meetings in the series and the last time Idaho beat the Cougs was in 2000. The last game was played in 2022 and WSU squeaked out a narrow 24-17 victory on a last minute interception by Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley.
The first Battle of the Palouse was played in Moscow on November 18, 1894. WSU came away with a 10-0 victory.
The Cougs won the first three meetings before Idaho won its first Battle of the Palouse at home on October 25, 1901.
Lately, WSU has owned the series winning 24 of the last 26 games.
