MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Parents of picky eaters are learning some new tricks. Members of the Alabama Cooperative Extension held a special training session Saturday at the Ben May Main Library in Mobile to help parents and caregivers whose kids may be stuck eating the same things.

They were working on positive mealtime through the “Picky Eaters Playbook.” The goal is to increase variety in the kids’ diets so their nutritional needs are met. Sometimes foods have to be introduced multiple times before kids are willing to eat it.

"You make gradual changes by slowly introducing new foods, keep introducing, even after the first time that they may not like it is okay, talk to your child. Ask them ‘What did you not like about it?’ Maybe they're just having a bad day," Health and Wellness Agent Ale
