MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — It's official! College football season is here as the University of South Alabama Jaguars opened their 2025 season at Hancock Whitney Stadium Saturday night.

The Jags went head-to-head with Baltimore's Morgan State Bears for their season opener.

Before kickoff, fans filled the parking lots, tailgating and gearing up for what they hope will be a strong season under second-year head coach Major Applewhite.

“I’m expecting a good season. We’re going to have some rough games, but I think we’ll do pretty good. I’m excited to see what coach Major Applewhite has to do,” USA senior Zach Chancey said.

USA alumna Laura Sergeant said she is especially looking forward to seeing the Jags back in action.
