Richmond police are investigating the death of a man located in the city's East End.

Around 8:52 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the 1900 block of Sussex Street for a report of a person down.

Officers located an adult male on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
