Four-and-half years after former defence minister Linda Reynolds was publicly lambasted over a discredited political cover up of a rape in her ministerial office at Parliament House, she finally feels vindicated.

Ms Reynolds won a high-profile defamation battle in the WA Supreme Court against former junior staffer Brittany Higgins and her husband David Sharaz.

Ms Reynolds sued the pair over a series of social media posts that defamed her in 2022 and 2023.

The posts were critical of how Ms Reynolds handled a rape allegation made by Ms Higgins that her then colleague Bruce Lehrmann sexually assaulted her in the senator’s office at Parliament House in 2019.
