CROMWELL, Conn. — The Better Business Bureau Serving Connecticut reports that two people in-state were recently conned by a pyramid scheme, losing thousands of dollars.

BBB officials are warning investors across the country about Lighting Shared Scooter Company LLC, or LSSC, a business claiming to operate out of North Texas.

According to the BBB, the operation is running a pyramid scheme.

A release from the BBB Serving Connecticut notes that LSSC currently holds an “F” rating for failing to answer complaints and for doing business without the required competency license from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC.

Last month, the BBB observed a sharp increase in consumer complaints and BBB Scam Tracker reports.
