HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford police said an investigation is underway Tuesday after two men were shot.

Police went to the area of Battles Street at 7:25 p.m. after receiving a notification from ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system.

Arriving officers found evidence of gunfire, police said. While they were at the scene, police dispatch learned that two gunshot victims were arriving at Hartford Hospital.

The victims included a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s. Both were alert and conscious at the hospital, according to police.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are investigating. There is no word on a suspect at this time.
