A much-loved bakery on the Maylands strip officially closed its doors on Sunday afternoon after announcing their departure in a social media post.

The Woodfired Baker, which has called Whatley Crescent in Maylands home for the past 14 years, told customers it would be closing the doors to both its cafe and wholesale business in a post across its social media platforms.

“We have loved our time shared with the Maylands community but it is time to hang up the apron and begin a new chapter,” the post said.

“Thank you to the Maylands community and especially our regulars for all the support over the years.”

More than 60 comments flooded their Instagram post, with people mourning the “loss to the Maylands strip” while also thanking them for their great services and food over the years.
