During the weather delay of the 2025 season opener, the Texas Tech football team received another massive commitment for a future recruiting class.

Hayes Fawcett of Rivals/On3 reported Saturday night that the Red Raiders have received a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Cooper Hackett. The 6-foot-7, 265-pound tackle is a member of the 2027 recruiting class.

The Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, native is ranked the No. 9 prospect in the country at 247Sports and a composite five-star prospect with a 0.9957 rating. He held offers from most of the major players in college football, including Florida, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
