A couple and their adult son are still on the run a year after they were branded "utter cowards" over a mass brawl described as some of the worst violence seen in Birmingham city centre .

Judge Dean Kershaw imposed jail terms on mum-of-12 Ellen Sweeney, her partner Thomas Sweeney senior and their son Thomas junior last September after a wild fight in the Gay Village was caught on CCTV.

But the trio, who used to live in Kitts Green Road, Stechford , had already fled having skipped bail, which was granted after they claimed they were attending Thomas junior's wedding.
