EUGENE — Montana State had one of the best rushing offenses in all of college football last season. It will have a long way to get back to that level after being stymied by No. 7 Oregon.
The Ducks held the Bobcats to just 46 yards on 27 carries in Saturday’s 59-13 blowout at Autzen Stadium. It was the lowest yards per carry (1.7) for Montana State since the 2022 FCS national semifinals.
Though Oregon held three opponents under 2.0 ypc last season, it had not held an FCS opponent to such low efficiency since 2019.
Dan Lanning, who emphasized Montana State’s rushing attack to the defense this week, cited Oregon’s focus on that single factor to its success.
