COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - When asked to evaluate his performance in No. 19 Texas A&M’s 42-24 win over UTSA to open the 2025 season, Aggie quarterback Marcel Reed paused a moment.

In the matter of a few seconds, 34 pass attempts, 22 completions and four touchdowns ran through his mind behind a furrowed brow.

A smile materialized as he landed on his conclusion.

“I think I did all right,” he said.

Saturday, the Aggies’ performance wasn’t all bad. It certainly wasn’t all good. It was all right enough for A&M to claim a win, with some breathing room, against a good Group of Five squad in the season opener.

Beyond that, the jury is still in deliberations on what kind of season this could be.

“The whole game just kind of felt choppy,” head coach Mike Elko said.
