MAHOPAC- Angela Morales has been ‘coiffing’ hair since the age of 13.

The Carmel businesswoman celebrated a milestone Saturday when her Cool Styles Hair Salon located at the Gleneida Plaza celebrated its silver anniversary.

Morales, who emigrated from the Dominican Republic with her husband Ed, opened Cool Styles during the Labor Day weekend in 2000 which Angela said was “our best decision.”

The couple owned a salon in the Bronx and decided to relocate to the ‘north country’ allowing her children to experience what she described as a “better education.”

She landed a job at the Short Cuts salon in Mahopac but always aspired to open her own business. The opportunity arose and as Angela noted: “The rest is history. It’s been an excellent 25 years thanks to our community and my clients. I’
