As the heartthrob lead singer of chart-topping glam rockers The Sweet, Brian Connolly had everything going for him. The group achieved enormous success during the 1970s, performing to huge audiences across the globe and enjoying all the luxuries that came with stardom.

The band's guitarist, Andy Scott, confirmed they had reached millionaire status at their height in the 1970s , thanks to their 39 worldwide hits and 13 top 20 hits in the UK, including the number one single Blockbuster.

"A lot of money went through the bank accounts during that period. We moved into the millionaire status," he said.
