PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) -- Part of life is the “hard part” of saying goodbye. News 5’s Drexel Gilbert spent the past few days with her family, saying goodbye to a beloved family member. She learned that even in the sad times, we can find blessings… and hope.

I bet a lot of you are getting together with your families this holiday weekend to celebrate Labor Day and to spend time having fun, cooking out, and enjoying being together.

My family also got together this weekend… but for a different reason. We gathered together to say goodbye to a beloved son, brother, husband, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend. My sister’s oldest son, Rick, died suddenly last week. It was a hard, hard hurt.
