CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is warning westbound drivers on I-26 in Calhoun County to expect delays on Sunday morning.
Master Trooper William Bennett shared a photo of a large fire involving a car hauler near mile marker 137. Bennett said a detour is already in place at mile marker 139 (Burke Road), but warned drivers to expect delays throughout the morning.
No details were available regarding the fire's cause or whether anyone was injured; however, Bennett said the car hauler was the only vehicle involved.
Around 2:30 p.m., the South Carolina Department of Transportation said that it had crews ready to make temporary repairs as soon as the wreckage is cleared from the road. The state agency stated that permanent repairs would be made during overnight hours
