Middlesbrough's dream start to the new season continued as they beat Sheffield United 1-0 at the Riverside.

The Blades have many problems right now and were far removed from the side who collected 90 points last season, but many of the players who achieved that remain. This was Boro's most accomplished overall performance of the season yet, and though the goals didn't come, they'd have been good value to have won by more.

Not only is it a great start for Boro, it's an important start for new head coach Rob Edwards. It was hard not to draw the comparison with his opposite number Ruben Selles and imagine how the Boro boss could have easily been in a similar position himself as we hit the first international break.
