SHENANDOAH JUNCTION - Spring Mills football opened the season on Friday with a 14-0 victory over Jefferson.

The Cardinals, coming off an appearance in last year's Class AAAA state championship game, started off the 2025 season strong with a solid effort against the Cougars, who couldn't overcome a slow start that involved penalties and a few miscues.

The running game was particularly good, resulting in Spring Mills' two touchdowns. Blake Sanders got the Cardinals on the board first with a 49-yard run with 5:52 left in the first quarter. The extra point made it 7-0.
