Myles Rademan had a few observations to share last week in his turn to help present this year’s Spirit of Hospitality award named after him.

I view Rademan as one of those rarest-of-the-rare realists who have had a hand in history but are not shackled to it, golden and glorious though the past may be for peers.

So I wasn’t surprised at what might be the most clear-eyed assessment of what is ahead for Park City expressed so far this election season:

“1. We live in the U.S. in an era prioritizing individualism, entrepreneurship, private property rights and economic determinism seemingly above all else.

“2. We live in Utah, one of the most conservative and libertarian states in the union with a proven addiction to growth and a healthy disdain for dissent coming from above 6,000 feet.
