If you’ve stepped outside lately, you’ve probably noticed that it doesn’t feel like the dog days of summer anymore. Labor Day will feel much more like an early taste of fall across Eastern North Carolina. Thanks to high pressure building in from the north and low pressure offshore, we’re stuck in a cool and breezy setup.
Expect highs only in the upper 70s to low 80s, well below what’s typical for this time of year. Gusty northeast winds will continue to make it feel even cooler, especially at the beaches. Winds could gust up to 25 mph along the coast.
Most of us inland will enjoy sunshine and comfortable weather, with crisp nights dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s.
