Former West Virginia teacher sentenced after he had a “full blown sexual relationship” with student

Former Wheeling Park teacher Micah Farmer was sentenced this past week in Ohio County after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree sexual assault.

Judge Michael Olejasz gave Farmer one to five years for each count, rejecting a request for home confinement.

The charges stem from a State Police investigation earlier this year that found Farmer had an alleged sexual relationship with a former student.

Before sentencing, Farmer apologized to the court, the victim and his community.

The victim also spoke during the hearing.
