A North Carolina man is $100,000 richer after winning the lottery from a $50 scratch-off.
The North Carolina Lottery says Jeffrey Douglas of Cherryville won the money on his 31 st wedding anniversary last Sunday.
When Douglas won, he texted a photo of the winning ticket to his wife. She replied, “Call Me,” according to the North Carolina Lottery.
Douglas has already collected his prize, which turned out to be $71,764 after required state and federal withholdings. The lottery says Douglas plans to share his winnings with his family, while supporting his tree-cutting business.
