Grandfather Faces Felony Charges After Allegedly Tampering with Granddaughters’ Dessert
A Wilmington man has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly caught on video placing illegal narcotics into the ice cream of his two juvenile granddaughters.
On August 8, 2025, a Wilmington Police Department (WPD) officer was flagged down by James Yokeley, 66, at a Sheetz gas station on Shipyard Boulevard. Yokeley reported that his two granddaughters had discovered two hard objects in their ice cream, which they had recently purchased from a Dairy Queen on Oleander Drive.
Medical personnel were called to the scene to examine the two children, who were determined to have not ingested any of the unknown substances. The items, identified as two pills, were collected by the officer. Preliminary
