TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Talladega man died in a two-vehicle crash authorities said happened Saturday evening, Aug. 30.

The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Alabama State Road 21 near mile marker 225, about three miles south of the Talladega city limits.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said 51-year-old Demetrius L. Pope was killed when the vehicle he was driving collided with a van.

Pope was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The driver of the other vehicle - 39-year-old Felicia A. R. Gober of Munford was taken by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment.

No other information is available. ALEA troopers continue their investigation.
