British Columbians are facing the prospect of industrial action this week by an array of public service workers, from liquor store staff to community college instructors and municipal workers, after B.C. Government Employees Union members voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.

The BCGEU issued the strike notice for more than 34,000 workers. Of those who voted to strike, 92.7 per cent were in favour of job action.
