SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — 95-year-old Don Phillips of Sioux Falls hasn't always been an athlete.

"I think I was 57 the first time I ran a mile," Phillips said Wednesday.

These days, however, there's barely enough real estate on his chest for all his medals. At the recent National Senior Games in Iowa, he placed first in his age group of 95 to 99 in the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, discus, long jump, shot put and javelin. Per National Senior Games data, he set records for that age group in the 100 and 200 meter dashes.

"I do tire easier," Phillips said. "It takes longer to recover, and so I don't do near what I did."

These days, he's mindful of his muscles.
