LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - Quiet conditions return to Acadiana overnight as all rain ends, skies clear of cloud cover, and temperatures settle in the 70s. Humid air will be around to begin Labor Day as sunshine fills the sky through the morning hours. During the afternoon, clouds will mix with sunshine and an isolated shower or storm will be possible. High temperatures reach near 90 degrees.

In the tropics, we are following a tropical wave exiting the African coast. It will travel westward this week and could strengthen into a tropical cyclone by week's end. It is still nearly two weeks away from affecting land areas if it does not stay out to sea, so we have plenty of time to monitor it. Otherwise, the tropics are quiet and there are no threats to Acadiana in the foreseeable future.
