The Department for Work and Pensions is informing individuals with arthritis, incontinence, and chronic health conditions that they DON'T require Personal Independence Payment. Ron Farrington, a recipient of the benefit, has criticised the DWP in an interview with the Big Issue Magazine , as his story gains widespread attention.

Farrington, 65, hailing from Liverpool, first applied for the benefit five years ago and described the DWP process as "very hard". He expressed his frustration: "Applying for PIP for the first time was very hard; it had to eventually go to tribunal.

"I sent all the forms and any documentation and was refused, then at tribunal I was awarded standard care and high mobility, but this all took nearly a year from first applying."
