Osborne: Labor Day is a reminder of the rights so many of us take for granted — the eight-hour workday, 40-hour workweek, weekends, safer working conditions and the end of child labor.
These rights were not gifts. They were won by ordinary people standing together across trades, races and generations. Today’s generation should remember that nothing about dignity at work is automatic; every gain is organized, defended and expanded through solidarity.
