Relearning how to do the basics, like walking and getting into a car, is now Ken Stewart's everyday.
Stewart is recovering from three fractures in his ankle, two fractured vertebrae and a spinal fusion surgery. Injuries that happened during the deadly Aug. 9 storm.
That storm killed a woman in Douglas County and injured several others, including many who were staying at the River View Park Resort and Marina in Blair, like Stewart. Strong winds uprooted decades-old trees throughout the city, including two Cottonwoods that landed on top of Stewart's RV. Stewart and his wife were still inside.
"Oh, I remember the whole thing," Stewart said. "Our bathroom had three shower doors, glass. The medicine cabinets were three mirrors. Everything broke down on me. I was pinned on the
