Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is hoping to see Hayden Hackney remain a Middlesbrough player beyond Monday’s transfer deadline, admitting his surprise that the star midfielder is yet to get a Premier League move.

Boro are hoping to keep Hackney this summer and have made clear that the 23-year-old is now not for sale this summer, with no time in Boro’s favour to secure a replacement. Wolves are said to remain keen, however and may yet test that resolve with a huge offer before the window closes.
