Middlesbrough have secured the marquee transfer of David Strelec, their long-term striker target from Slovan Bratislava, with the 24-year-old signing a five-year contract at the Riverside.
Boro made attempts to sign Strelec back in January as Emmanuel Latte Lath moved to Atlanta United. However, the late nature of that exit meant that Strelec’s club were reluctant to lose him so late in the window. Boro opted to sign Kelechi Iheanacho on loan instead, with Michael Carrick preferring his experience of English football.
