High school football returned to the Helena area last Friday with all five teams returning to the gridiron.

The Helena Bengals were one of three local teams to notch a season-opening win, rallying from a seven-point deficit at halftime to pull out a 28-20 win over Billings Skyview.

Capital took a 14-0 lead against CMR, thanks to a pair of Brit Linder touchdown runs. The Montana State commitment finished the game with 111 rushing yards. Yet, turnovers and four consecutive CMR touchdowns doomed the Bruins, who lost their first game since winning the state championship in Class AA last November, 28-14.
