A South Carolina man won $1 million as part of the South Carolina Education Lottery's Second-Chance Promotion.

The promotion allowed players to enter their winning and non-winning Magnificent Millions scratch-offs for a chance to win $1 million.

“I got really quiet,” he told lottery officials, describing the phone conversation informing him of his big win.

Since collecting the winnings, he has paid off his house, paid off a family member’s house and hopes to help others.
