Canceling a gym membership isn’t always as simple as telling your gym you no longer want to be a member.
At least one major national gym, 24 Hour Fitness, says a phone call will suffice. But some others require an in-person visit or notification by mail.
The subject is a touchy one for many gym goers, as well as gym management — with some patrons saying they’ve had to jump through a lot of hoops to cancel and some managers stating they’ve been unfairly accused of underhanded business practices to keep membership up.
