The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a new two-year extension with running back Jaylen Warren to keep him with the team past this year. Warren, who signed an undrafted free agent contract with the team out of the 2022 NFL Draft, is positioned to be the team’s starter now.
He, along with third-round pick Kaleb Johnson , should formulate what is the Steelers’ backfield for the next few seasons. Warren was Najee Harris’ backup over the last few years, but impressed with his pass protecting ability, and the team now believes in him as a player.
Despite an injury-filled 2024 season, Warren became the team’s lead back down the stretch. He finished with over 800 combined yards despite the hamstring and knee injuries he battled throughout the season.
This year, Warren’s contract was set
