September has come around, and there is still no contract extension for Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

With training camp just a few weeks away, many fans are starting to get anxious about the situation. Popular belief throughout the summer was that McDavid would eventually sign an extension before the new season amped up to avoid distractions, but new reporting seems to contradict that belief.

McDavid said that he was in no rush to get a deal done at last week’s Olympic camp in Calgary, and now TSN’s Ryan Rishaug is reporting that there is a real possibility the Oilers superstar could start the new season without a new contract.
