EPHRATA, Wash. — City officials issued a precautionary water boil advisory for all Ephrata residents Monday morning after a water line leak compromised the municipal water system, according to a city press release.
The advisory went into effect at 8:55 a.m. and requires residents to bring all tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes or food preparation, the city said.
The city has consulted with the Washington State Department of Health about the incident, officials said. Crews are working to isolate the leaking water line while pressure builds back into the system from other water sources and reservoirs.
Once repairs are complete, the system will be flushed and chlorinated, according to the city. Water
