EPHRATA, Wash. -- The city of Ephrata says the boil water advisory is still in effect until further notice.
The boil water advisory was first issued after a water line break in the city's water supply. Because of where the leak is located, a negative pressure event occurred in the system. State law requires a boil water advisory any time negative pressure is detected.
Repairs to the leak are currently underway. The city says crews are working overtime to get repairs finished as soon as possible.
Any water that could be ingested, such as water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or giving to pets, should be boiled first. Showering, washing your hands, doing laundry and other similar activities are safe without needing to boil the water.
The city says water sample test results are
