The New England Patriots unveiled their six captains for the 2025 season on Monday with a social media announcement.

Drake Maye, the second-year quarterback, tops the list after a rookie campaign that produced a Pro Bowl selection and more than 2,200 passing yards. He has already become the centerpiece of the franchise’s new direction under head coach Mike Vrabel.

“As a quarterback, you have to do it in a manner that gets their attention,” Vrabel said earlier this summer of Maye’s leadership role, as transcribed in a team statement.

Robert Spillane, signed in March, quickly emerged as the defensive voice of the locker room. His competitive style and energy filled the gap left by longtime veterans and set the tone for Vrabel’s revamped unit, according to The Times of India.
