LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person died from his injuries after being hit by a vehicle in south Lincoln early Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. near 27th Street and Barnard Road.

Police said a 37-year-old pedestrian was running south on 27th Street when a vehicle hit them from behind.

They were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In an update on Monday, police said the pedestrian had died.

LPD said the driver remained on scene after the crash and cooperated with the investigation.

The driver showed no signs of impairment and no citations have been issued, according to police.
